Delete Your Data

Last updated: May 29, 2026

You can delete your ChannelzIQ account and all associated data at any time. This page explains exactly how, what gets deleted, and how long deletion takes.

What gets deleted

When you request deletion, we permanently remove:

  • Your account record (email, hashed password, organization, billing information)
  • All content you created inside ChannelzIQ (drafts, scripts, projects, research history, AI-generated suggestions you saved)
  • All OAuth tokens and refresh tokens for connected services (YouTube, Google Analytics, AdSense, Search Console, WordPress, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)
  • Cached data we pulled from your connected services (video metadata, analytics snapshots, comment threads, post insights)
  • All audit logs and application logs that reference your account
  • All backup copies in our backup rotation (within 30 days of the deletion request — backups roll over in that window)

We retain the minimum records required by U.S. law for accounting and tax purposes (typically billing records for 7 years), but these contain no content data — only payment-processor identifiers and amounts.

Method 1 — Export and delete in the app (recommended)

ChannelzIQ exposes two separate, explicit account actions in Settings: a one-click export of everything we hold about you, and a permanent account deletion. Use them in this order if you want a copy of your data before destroying it.

Step 1 (optional) — Export your data first

Before you delete, you can download everything ChannelzIQ holds about your account so you have a personal copy.

  1. Sign in to your ChannelzIQ account at go.channelziq.com.
  2. Open Settings in the left sidebar, then click the Data & Privacy tab.
  3. Review the Your Data Summary panel — it shows current counts of your videos, scripts, and projects on file.
  4. Click Export All My Data (CSV). ChannelzIQ packages your videos metadata, scripts, projects, articles, AI-generated content history, and account record into a ZIP file and downloads it to your browser.
  5. Save the ZIP somewhere safe. You do not need to wait for the export to finish before continuing to deletion — they are independent operations.

Step 2 — Permanently delete your account

  1. Still on Settings → Data & Privacy, scroll to the Danger Zone section at the bottom of the panel.
  2. Click Delete My Account.
  3. Confirm the deletion in the dialog that appears. This action cannot be undone. As soon as you confirm, your account record and all associated data are queued for permanent deletion.
  4. You will be signed out immediately. The queued deletion finishes within 24 hours; backup propagation completes within 30 days (we cycle backups out of rotation as part of the standard purge window).

Once deletion has completed, your account record, content, OAuth tokens for every connected service, cached connected-service data, and audit logs are all gone. If you sign up again later with the same email address, it will be a brand-new account with no historical data attached.

Method 2 — Email request (for accounts you can no longer sign into)

If you cannot sign in (lost credentials, account locked, etc.) and want to delete your data, send an email to support@channelziq.com with:

  • Subject line: Account deletion request
  • The email address associated with your ChannelzIQ account
  • A brief statement that you are requesting deletion of your ChannelzIQ account and all associated data

We respond to deletion requests within 5 business days. We may ask one verification question to confirm the request comes from the account owner (e.g., the approximate signup month, the name of a connected YouTube channel). Once verified, deletion proceeds the same way as Method 1.

Disconnecting third-party services

Deleting your ChannelzIQ account automatically revokes any OAuth tokens we hold for your connected services, so we lose access immediately. However, you may also want to revoke our access directly from the provider so the entry no longer appears in your connected-apps list:

  • Google services (YouTube, GA4, AdSense, Search Console): myaccount.google.com/permissions → find "ChannelzIQ" → Remove access.
  • Meta services (Facebook, Instagram): accounts.center.meta.com/business_apps → find "ChannelzIQ" → Remove.
  • WordPress: in your WP admin → Users → Application Passwords → revoke the ChannelzIQ entry.
